Project Overview

Completed in November 2019, Cornerstone Place is a multifamily development containing 70 apartment units located in El Cajon, CA.   The development serves veterans and families with sixty-nine (69) affordable units (plus one manager’s unit) for individuals and families earning at or below 60% of Area Median Income (AMI).  The unit mix includes 48 one-bedroom and 22 three-bedroom units on a 1.0 acre flat parcel.

The four-story building was built in a contemporary architectural style to complement the surrounding neighborhood while leading the way for modernization and increased investment in the community.  The surrounding neighborhood is a mix of commercial and residential with a myriad of amenities within walking distance including public transit, a library, park, middle school, shopping and various services.

The development offers a number of amenities for its residents such as central laundry, common lounges on each floor and a mezzanine level courtyard that includes a children’s play area.  The ground level contains ample covered parking along with a community room, management office, manager’s unit and community serving office space.  Each apartment home includes laminate and carpet flooring, a patio/balcony, energy efficient appliances and HVAC systems with the entire complex built to LEED Silver design standards.
