Project Overview

Southcrest is a HUD Section 8 property with 30 one- and two- bedroom residential units. Prior to the acquisition by Domus, this poorly maintained property was at risk of losing its rent subsidy, which would have displaced many long-term residents.

In  December 2007, Domus acquired Southcrest with the purpose of renovating the property and preserving its affordability for the future. With assistance from the  City of Sacramento, Domus was able to preserve this housing resource and renew its rent subsidy.

Upgrades and improvements include a new manager’s office, laundry room, and community room with a computer learning center. Domus also converted two of the units to fully ADA accessible and vision/hearing impaired units.
